Is Your Building Paying a Delta T Penalty?
Delta T (ΔT) is the temperature difference between the chilled water supplied to your building and the warmer water returned after it has absorbed heat.
A healthy ΔT means your building’s cooling system is working efficiently — extracting the maximum amount of heat from each litre of chilled water.
A low ΔT means the opposite: chilled water is being returned to the district cooling plant before it has done its job, forcing the plant to work harder, consume more energy, and in many cases charge your building a penalty for the inefficiency.
